Community guidelines
Last updated: August 14, 2026
UnwantedCall works when people describe genuine calls carefully and respectfully. These rules apply to quick reports, classifications, names, comments, and correction requests.
Share firsthand call experiences
Report a number only when you received a call or message displaying it. Describe what happened: what the caller claimed, whether a recording played, whether voicemail was left, and what action was requested. Use “suspected scam” for your assessment; do not present an unverified suspicion as a proven crime.
Remember caller-ID spoofing
The number shown on a phone can be falsified. Do not assume the subscriber or business associated with a number made the reported call. Our pages describe activity involving calls displaying a number.
Protect privacy
Do not post home addresses, personal email addresses, financial or medical information, passwords, government identifiers, private family details, or information about children. Avoid naming private individuals unless the name was used by the caller and is directly relevant; even then, describe it as what the caller claimed.
Be truthful and relevant
- No invented reports, coordinated rating manipulation, or reviews submitted for payment.
- No personal feuds, threats, harassment, discriminatory attacks, or unrelated allegations.
- No promotional links, solicitation, repeated posts, or automated submissions.
- No copying another person’s report or pretending to represent a business.
Moderation
Automated filters may hold suspicious submissions for review. We may remove or restrict content that violates these guidelines, while preserving a balanced record of genuine positive, neutral, and negative experiences. Businesses and affected users may request correction, provide context, or appeal through Content Review.
